These tables are intended to list of all known carbonate-bearing minerals for which names have been approved by the International Mineralogical Association's Commission on New Minerals and New Mineral Names. Table II lists the carbonate bearing minerals that contain halides, sulfate, borate, arsenate, arsenite, phosphate, or silicate .

5 Baiyuneboite-(Ce) may be identical to Cordylite-(Ce), and approval of the name was withdrawn (AM 75:240). It is nonetheless retained as a separate mineral here, simply to maintain consistency with many other mineral lists.

6 Cebaite-(Ce) was never approved by the CNMMN but is included here for the sake of consistency with most mineral lists.

7 Column lists silicate groups (nesosilicate, sorosilicate, etc) in which Gaines et al. (Dana's New Mineralogy) place these minerals. "NC" indicates Gaines et al. did not classify the mineral. 8. The analysis report for this mineral included CO2, but neither the original authors nor Mandarino (1997) include in the formula Na8(Al6Si6O24)(OH)2.2H2O. Gaines et al. (1997) use that formula in their table on p, 1632 of Dana's New MIneralogy. but they show the unusual and unba formula Na8(Al6Si6O24)(OHCO3)2.2H2O on page 1637. This compilation does not include
