We're standing in a little bit of Inn floodplain between Zams and Schönwies, downriver from Landeck, admiring the Kronburg castle atop a promontory on the south side of the Inn. The castle dates from 1380, when Duke Leopold gave the Starkenberger family permission to build a castle here. Also note the vertical layers of limestone that make up the castle's steep hill - they began as horizontal layers on the seafloor about 200 million years ago.
