If you're enrolled in Railsback's GEOL 1121 lecture section, you can go on a two- to three-hour field trip to Watson Mill State Park. The trip will involve a casual stroll through along trails in the park and over the exposed (dry) river bed in the park (water levels permitting), with geological insights along the way. The only requirements are that you sign a liability waiver, that you have a relatively sturdy pair of shoes, that you can walk about a mile on hiking trails, and that you be willing to obey the instructor's directions regarding safety and civil behavior. No expense should be involved.
Each individual run of the trip is limited to 12 students. Students will be transported in a UGA Geology Department van driven by Bruce Railsback. Two runs are offered below; more will be scheduled if demand merits doing so. We will depart from the loading dock at the SW corner of the Geology-Geography building. Trips will be cancelled in the event of heavy rain; a notice of cancellation will be posted here as soon as the decision is made to cancel.
Rosters for the two runs of the trip:

Wednesday, April 3, 2002 3:00 pm:
To have your name added to the list and thus reserve a spot for the trip, send an e-mail message indicating your date of choice to Bruce Railsback. Reseervations will be accepted until March 27, 2002.
