To Whom It May Concern, An applicant to the University of Georgia Interdisciplinary Field Program (UGA-IFP) has selected you as a reference. Our program consists of several introductory courses in geology, ecology, and anthropology, conducted over an eight-week period in the field while traveling across the western United States. This program is academically rigorous and demanding both physically and emotionally. Students are required to maintain a superior level of academic performance for the duration of the trip, while living and interacting in close quarters with other students and staff. In addition to long academic days, students are expected to participate in the maintenance of camp life by performing various cleaning duties, food preparations, and other work assignments. Overall, the program is very demanding, and it is extremely critical for students to participate fully in order to ensure it functions smoothly. The rewards of such participation are great. Because of the nature and demands of the program, it is important that the staff be able to evaluate each applicant's capabilities. We would greatly appreciate your input concerning this candidate. Please take a few moments to answer the questions below. Your response will, of course, remain confidential. The application deadline is February 1st; please try to complete the form as soon as possible. For more information about UGA-IFP, see our website www.uga.edu/ifp . Thank you very much for your assistance. |
