1. Absolutely no make-up quizzes or exams will
be given. Exceptions for make-up exams only include family death or acute
illness. Class attendance is required. Missing more than three class periods
will automatically result in a WF.
2. Final grade will be determined as follows:
a. Lecture exam #1 - 15% Schroeder
b. Lecture exam #2 - 20% Schroeder
c. Lecture exam #3 - 10% Crowe
d. Lecture exam #4 - 15% Crowe
e. Laboratory grade - 40% Veal
Total 100%
Laboratory grade will be based upon
combined scores, including weekly lab quizzes (5%), lab exams and exercises
(25%), and laboratory notebook (10%).
3. Office hours - If you have a question or problem
please see one of us about it sooner, rather than later. Our offices are open
anytime except while teaching other classes. You can always set up an
appointment by phone, e-mail or by placing a note in our mailbox located down
the hall from the classroom.
4. A field trip will be run (rain or shine). Please be
prepared with durable footwear and rain gear. Bring your rock hammer, hand lens
and field notebook.
5. Holidays: September 1st (M), October 26th
(W).

Schroeder will be out of town on the following date: September 15th.
