Research
interests
center around the detailed crystal-chemical characterization of
minerals
associated with weathering, diagenetic, and hydrothermal environments.
Particularly as these minerals serve to proxy the record of
environmental
change throughout earth history. Clay minerals are the most abundant
reactive
solids on the Earth's surface therefore, my research involves
the
study of these fine grain particles using methods such as nuclear
magnetic
resonance, vibrational spectroscopy, stable isotopes, chemical,
X-ray and
electron diffraction.
Courses
Below is a list of
courses I have taught while at the University of Georgia.
The links contain the course syllabi and in some cases web notes. These
web
notes are intended for distribution to the
students enrolled in the classes. You are welcome view these pages, but
if you
want to download and incorporate any of this work into other web sites
or
publication, then permission is required.
