Specialty is low-temperature and aqueous geochemistry with emphasis on the stable isotope systematics of elements that play key roles in biogeochemical processes. Research program includes:

1.Paleoclimate/Paleooceanography
2.Geomicrobiology
3.Isotope Geochemistry/Analytical Techniques
4.Meteoritics/Planetary Geochemistry
5.Environmental Geochemistry and Geology
6.Ecology
7. Education/Outreach
8.Kamchatka Microbial Observatory Project
update in progress - check back soon
9.Nevada hot spring NSF: Microbial Interactions and Processes (MIP) study
10.Holocene Shell Accumulations from the Southeast Brazilian Bight: A collaborative NSF study

Research is primarily devoted to solving diverse problems in the ecological and environmental sciences. With the recent acquisition of an isotope ratio mass spectrometer system, a diverse suite of research opportunities is now available for study at the Savannah River Ecology Laboratory.
